About Claire

Movement, birth, and the power of feeling at home in your body

Long before I understood why, I was drawn to the way breath and movement could quiet a busy mind and bring me back into my body. Yoga became both a personal anchor and a way to help others feel stronger, steadier, and more at home in themselves. Over hundreds of hours of training and teaching, I learned not only how to guide movement, but also how to listen, create space, and support each person as they are. My 500-hour certification, the highest level of yoga teacher training, took me from studios in the United States to immersive study in Thailand.

Teaching prenatal yoga revealed another dimension of that work. As I watched women discover their strength, trust their bodies, and prepare for birth, I felt called to support them beyond the yoga mat. Becoming a birth doula felt like a natural extension of the same work: using presence, breath, movement, and compassionate care to help women feel informed, supported, and never alone. My dual college majors in Women’s Studies and Sociology ground that care in a deeper understanding of women’s lives, bodies, and choices.

FAQ

Common questions

What areas do you serve?
I'm based in Pacific Beach and serve the greater San Diego area, from Encinitas down through South San Diego. Not sure if you're in range? Just reach out and we'll figure it out.
Should I choose private sessions or the group class?
Private sessions are built entirely around you: your goals, your pace, your schedule, in your own space. The group class brings the energy and community of practicing alongside others. Many clients enjoy both, and I'm happy to help you find the right fit.
What can I expect in a private yoga session?
We begin with how you're feeling that day, then move through practice tailored to your body and goals: functional strength, healthy and safe movement, breathwork, and time to unwind your nervous system. Sessions happen in your home or outdoors, wherever you're most comfortable.
How often should we practice together?
There's no one right rhythm. Many clients love a weekly session to build momentum, while others practice every other week alongside their own routine. We'll find the cadence that fits your goals and your life.
Do you attend hospital births?
Yes. Most births I attend are in hospitals, and I'm there to help you feel grounded, informed, and supported in that setting, communicating confidently with your care team.
Do you attend home births?
Yes. For families birthing at home with a midwifery team, I provide continuous comfort and emotional support while your midwives tend to the clinical side of your care.
When should I hire a doula?
Whenever you're ready. Many families reach out in the second trimester so we have time for all three prenatal visits without rushing, but it's never too early or too late to ask.
What if I get induced or need a cesarean?
I support you through every version of birth: induction, unmedicated, epidural, cesarean. My role doesn't change. I help you understand your options and feel supported in whichever path your birth takes.
Can my partner still be involved?
Absolutely. My presence is never a replacement for your partner. I help them help you, showing them comfort techniques, keeping them steady, and making sure they get to be fully present too.
Do I need yoga experience to get started?
Not at all. Absolute beginners are some of my favorite people to work with. Every session starts from where you are today, and we build from there at your pace.
What does prenatal yoga include?
Strength and mobility for a changing body, breathwork you'll actually use in labor, pelvic floor awareness, and space to connect with your baby and your intuition. Available as private sessions or in my weekly Friday class at Soul Plunge.
Do you accept insurance?
I don't bill insurance directly. That said, many clients are covered through their own health plans, wellness benefits, or HSA/FSA funds, and doula support is increasingly reimbursable. I'm happy to provide an itemized receipt for you to submit to your plan.
